Thanks to major funding from the community, friends, relatives, NEIBC Community Foundation and Guernsey grants, and the Lags Foundation we raised monies needed to rebuild the south brick wall to stabilize the structure, February 2026. We continue to raise funds for Phase 2 of historic reconstruction and further improvements to the structure, and to return the features to the historically correct time period; including furnishings.

Our hands-on activities, teaching about pioneer life, early Waverly settlers life, and life in the 1850's are fun events that happen throughout the year. Some are in partnership with the Bremer County Historical Society Museum, the Waverly Chamber of Commerce, and utilizing historical city places like the Farmers Exchange Building/RR historical area along 1st St. SW.

*One of Waverly's oldest existing homes (after the flood of 2008) that is still standing!

*We are being considered for a Silos and Smokestacks Heritage Area Site.

*Recognized by the Waverly Historic Registry with a plaque and located within one of Waverly's Historic Designated Neighborhoods.

*A designated non-profit, 501c3 with an all volunteer board, with funding solely from grants and generous donations.
