Sturdevant House Sheriff Sale

By Anelia K. Dimitrova; July 17, 2009.

In April, the historic Ira Sturdevant home in Waverly was sold at a sheriff sale. Rick and Kathy Sturdevant bought the landmark home and turned it over to preservationists. Rick’s great-great-grandfather, a veteran of the 1812 war, built the house in 1856 before Waverly’s incorporation two years later.
